Do you watch the 24-hour news networks with a bowl of popcorn and a soda on hand? Does it make you laugh when politicians “spin” themselves into corners? This may be the blog for you.
The title “I don’t think I know” is a reference to Plato, who came to realize that his greatest wisdom came from an acceptance of how little he truly knew. Hence, “I don’t think I know,” or, in Plato’s words: “I neither know nor think that i know” (The Apology).
The title is also a rejection of the “know-it-all” attitude we see among many of the talking heads in the mainstream media (especially on cable news), when, in reality, those “journalists” are paid to predict the unpredictable and know the unknown.
As a blogger I’ll try and give the most educated insight and opinion I can come up with BUT I’ll also be the first to tell you that I’m probably wrong 95% of the time (though I hope it’s not that bad).
At least I don’t Think I know.
As of now, I’ll post written entries along with news articles, news clips, editorials, columns, and satire (Stewart, Colbert, The Onion, etc).
But most importantly, I hope you guys will leave lots of comments so that we can have a REAL conversation and cut out the bull shit we have to deal with when we’re watching MSNBC, CNN, or FOX NEWS!
Let’s have a conversation about what the media and politicians don’t think we know!
Much love,
Philipp
